What you will learn

Burke Willis quit Enron at the right time, and that experience helped shape a career grounded in integrity and change. He is now helping reshape how internal audit projects are done.

We talk about why perfect audit plans don’t exist, how two-week cycles accelerate insight, why auditors should tell business stories (not just report numbers), and the power of defining “done” and getting there sooner.

I’m Jon Taber, an Internal Audit Manager at Casey’s and host of the AUDIT 15 FUN podcast. Before Casey’s, I led financial and operational audits for FedEx Services across Latin America and the Caribbean, where the lessons of the post‑Enron era met the realities of fast‑moving, cross‑border operations—and where I leaned into agile audit practices to deliver timely, practical insights.

In From Enron to Agile – Burke Willis, I connect those front-line experiences to the classroom, turning governance, risk, and fraud concepts into tools you can use right away. I hold a BS in Finance (Upper Iowa University) and a Master’s in Financial Fraud & Investigations (Pfeiffer University), and I’m a CPA (IA), CIA, CFE, and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). My goal is simple: help you move from compliance to value, with an agile mindset grounded in rigor.
