Changes to the CIA Exam in 2025

Field: Auditing | Delivery Method: Self Study | CPE Hours: 1.0

In this video I discuss my thoughts on changes to the CIA exam in 2025, based on a question I received on YouTube:

"Hi Jason, would like your thoughts on the changes made to the CIA exams that begin testing in US after May 28th. Also I’m in the process of studying exam #2 with the IIA’s new Becker format and the questions seem much better than under the old IIA study system. Also, from attending the recent IIA webinar on the exam changes, they spoke about redoing exam #3 which maybe better for everyone that’s been trying to pass it. Thank you and appreciate your thoughts."

I share my experience having taught CIA review courses for many years, having been a CIA and Chief Audit Executive, receiving non-official information about the exam and what is really going on in the background, what I am hearing from people actually going through the process, and fill in some blanks.

I also provide some updates on the structure of the new CIA exams, based on new information from my first video and feedback from those studying using the updated materials.

There is some confusing and contradictory information online that I get to the bottom of.

For those of you taking the exams, these changes appear to be very good for you, and we will see if they are true when people provide feedback after taking the new exams the end on May 2025.

I want to make sure you have information so you make the choices that are best for you and your career. If you are on the long path of earning your CIA, best of luck to you with these and other changes that happen every year or two.
